Pipa I (beginner): The Pipa is a chordophone, using vibrating strings to make the sounds. It is a four-stringed, pear -shaped lute. Its short, bent neck has 30 frets which extend onto the soundboard. The Pipa is considered one of the most intricate Chinese music instruments requiring sophisticated skills to perform. Student in this class will learn the basic finger skills with Chinese music.
Pipa II (advanced): In this class, students had finished Pipa I training and advance to more sophisticated skills and famous Chinese folk songs and music. Students are required to practice daily to follow up the progress.
Music and Dance Class for Early Child Education (4-7): Children will sing along to learn Chinese and dance as a Chinese dancer! The class teaches hand movements, foot step, body coordination, understanding the rhythm. Students absolutely will have a great fun to dance with Chinese props and play music instruments. Class curriculum uses professional dance material Chinese Dance Level 1-2.
Chinese Dance I (8-10y): Chinese dance requires strict and systematic physical training to emphasize the subject spirit, inner meaning, and the texture of the theme. The combined elements of folk dances, operas, ballet, martial art form a unique system of classical dance, sometimes referred as Chinese ballet. Students in this class required to finish Music and Dance class or equivalent dance training such as ballet or other dance forms. Continue training on flexibility, rhythm, and basic ballet skills. Class curriculum will follow professional dance material Chinese Dance Level 3-4.
Chinese Dance II (10-13y): Students in this class had finished Chinese Dance I or equivalent training on other dance forms. This class will use professional dance material Chinese Dance Level 4-6. Students will explore unique skills like breath, shen (spirit), Yun (flow); also strengthen leg and body control. Folk dance will be introduced as well. Professional material Chinese Dance Level 4-6 will be used.
Chinese Dance III (13 and above): This is advanced dance class and students need to finish Chinese Dance II curriculum or equivalent dance training in order to join this class. On special occasion, instructor will exam a dancer's ability for qualification. Students will continue to learn control, understand the depth of Breath, Shen and Yun in Chinese dance. Understand and distinguish variety of folk dances. Students are also encouraged to improve a dance production from what they learned. Class curriculum follows professional material Chinese Dance Level 6 and above.
Marital Art Tai Ji Fan and Sword Dance: Tai Ji fan and sword dances are unique bodybuilding martial art exercises. Tai Ji is the most popular exercise form in China. Its dance combines the movements of Tai Ji boxing and other martial arts and dances. The movements are the manipulation of Qi (sounded Chi) in the body with strong and flexible, aggressive and defensive Ying-Yang philosophy. Students will learn to how to hold prop fan or sword; and learn full of elegance and beauty and the impressive power of martial art.
